CITB Renewals / Upgrades

Upgrade your Card

Why Upgrade

You will not be able to renew your CITB license without achieving NVQ level 2. Your red card will expire three years after it has been issued.


Step 1

Complete your foundation training.
Pass your CITB health and safety test.
Receive your red trained operator license
Hold for a minimum of six months

Step 2

Achieve 300 hours on each category. Record all hours worked in your logbook. Hours must be signed off by your employer

OR

Safety and Training perform an on site assessment to prove competency.

Step 3
Safety and Training commence NVQ. Includes the following:

NVQ Induction
Profiling
Up to 3 site based assessment Visits
Video evidence
Written and verbal evidence

Stage 4
Achieve NVQ Certification and receive a blue competent operator card
If there isn’t an NVQ available for your plant category, Safety and Training will assess you against relevant NVQ units, and if you are proved competent we will issue a green competent operator card.
